GROW at Grab: Unlocking the full potential of our workforce
10 October 2025, 9:30AM

We launched GROW in early 2024 – our internal talent marketplace designed to map Grabber skills and motivations to strategic organisational needs and opportunities.

    • For Grabbers, GROW empowers them to be architects of their own careers through personalised learning and skill application.
    • For Grab, GROW provides visibility into workforce skills, enabling us to fill gaps more effectively and support strategic business needs.

Impact and learnings

We have seen signs of early success so far, particularly in:

    • Growing our mentorship community: We've built a strong mentorship community with hundreds of Grabbers who are passionate about helping others learn and grow.
    • Grooming internal talent pipelines: Many new project roles have been created and filled by Grabbers from other teams. This facilitates dynamic skills matching to immediate opportunities, and also provides a longer-term avenue to identify and develop potential successors for critical roles across Grab.
    • Empowering career mobility: Grabbers have also taken on new roles internally, taking steps to grow their careers at Grab.

While these outcomes are encouraging, the journey continues. A skills-first future requires a fundamental shift in our culture and organisational systems, beyond a single platform.

    • Skills-first culture: we have to reframe how we see talent, not as individuals locked into fixed roles, but as a pool of transferable skills. This mindset will help leaders and employees embrace non-linear career paths and adapt quickly as the business evolves.
    • Building an agile workforce: we must scale the success of projects to continually increase our agility. This includes optimising human skills in partnership with AI capabilities to plug gaps in real time, ensuring that we allocate talent for the greatest value.
    • Driving impact for the business: beyond adoption metrics, we are measuring how applied ability translates to higher performance, talent retention, and achievement of business goals - the ultimate measure of impact.

As the future of work continually reshapes around technologies like AI, human skills have become ever more critical to create value that cannot be automated. For Grab, GROW is just the start of a journey to embed the right mindsets and practices into our culture, ensuring that the continuous growth of our people remains the engine for strategic business success.
