SHRM Partnership
On 7 August 2019, the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) signed a mutual recognition agreement. The IHRP-SHRM agreement will enable certified professionals to achieve reciprocal recognition from both organisations through mutual recognition.

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) to IHRP Certified Professional (IHRP-CP)
Eligibility Criteria
  • 3 years of HR-related work experience at CP level
  • Experienced HR professionals
  • Minimum 150-hours of HR-related training or education
Application Requirements
  • Labour Legislation Paper

*Candidates must meet IHRP eligible requirements to bridge to the corresponding certification level

SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) to IHRP Senior Professional (IHRP-SCP)
Eligibility Criteria
  • 8 years of HR-related work experience at SP level
  • Experienced HR professionals
  • Minimum 150-hours of HR-related training or education
Application Requirements
  • Labour Legislation Paper

*All fees are inclusive of and subjected to prevailing GST rate. The above fees are non-refundable and non-transferable regardless of the outcome of the application.    
  • On-Site Fee is applicable to candidates selecting the On-Site Assessment option and includes test centre fees, invigilation fees and other administrative charges. SHRM candidates applying for IHRP Certification through this Agreement must have a current and valid SHRM Certification and Professional Membership.
 
  • Upon notification of successful advancement to On-Site Assessment, the candidate is allowed thirty (30) calendar days before the date of competency assessment to change competency assessment date without incurring a fee. The rescheduling fee is chargeable thereafter.

  • Must be an IHRP Certified Professional
  • Intended for individuals who perform general HR/HR-related duties

  • Complete the IHRP-SHRM bridging programme:  There are currently two options available. Please go to this link for more information and to register for either option if you are interested to complete the programme.
  • Review and agree to SHRM terms and conditions: This includes the Candidate Agreement, the SHRM Bylaws and Code of Ethics, and the SHRM Privacy Policy.
IHRP Senior Professional (IHRP-SP) to SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be an IHRP Senior Professional
  • Must have a work history of at least 3 years performing strategic level HR/HR-related duties

Certification + Membership Bundled Offer
Special Bridging Fee + 1 Year Global Internet Membership: USD 420*
These fees include prevailing fees which SHRM may charge, such as application fees and membership fees, but excludes recertification fees where applicable.
  • A person must obtain a SHRM Global Internet Membership at the time of applying for the SHRM certification under this Agreement to become a certified professional of SHRM.
 
  • A bridging candidate who ceases to be an IHRP certified professional will be required to re-apply for SHRM Professional Membership under the terms and conditions specified by SHRM.
