Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) Appoints Shirley Lim As Deputy Chief Executive Officer

01 February 2025 – Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) has appointed Shirley Lim as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer. In this role effective 1 February 2025, Shirley will provide strategic leadership and managerial oversight to drive workplace transformation, job redesign and greater adoption of certification while supporting the CEO and management on the next-bound strategic initiatives. Shirley will join IHRP’s management team as a seasoned strategic leader, bringing with her extensive expertise in organisational transformation and stakeholder partnership development. This executive position will spearhead critical human capital initiatives and workforce transformation strategies in collaboration with key government bodies and partners including the Ministry of Manpower and Workforce Singapore.

On her appointment, IHRP Chief Executive Officer Aslam Sardar said: “Shirley brings a broad range of in-depth experience in both private and public sectors, demonstrating excellence in fostering and maintaining strategic partnerships across the human resources ecosystem. Through a collaborative approach, she will build upon IHRP’s extensive network of HR Professionals, Tripartite and Ecosystem partners, educational institutions and other key stakeholders to achieve our vision of HR as a driver and enabler of business growth and transformation.”

As a seasoned strategic leader, Shirley brings over two decades of diverse experience across Singapore’s private and public sectors. Her adaptability and versatility stem from key roles where she honed expertise in strategic planning, industry development, technology adoption, and business growth. The enterprises she has served in include Accenture, Dusit Thani, The Idea Factory, Ministry of Manpower, Singapore Tourism Board and Workforce Singapore.

Shirley is on a secondment posting from Workforce Singapore (WSG) to Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP). Taking the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer at IHRP, Shirley aims to drive strategic workforce transformation and advance HR practices to meet the evolving needs of organisations, through nurturing collaborative partnerships with Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs) and key corporate partners. She shared: “The role of HR has never been more pivotal, especially in the face of ongoing business disruption and the critical need for workforce transformation. Human capital is the cornerstone of organisational success, driving adaptability, innovation, and growth.
