About IHRP

Established as a HR professional body, the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) sets the benchmark for the competencies and behaviours of future-ready HR professionals through the national HR certification framework.

The Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) is the HR professional body, set up by the tripartite partners: the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF).

IHRP is the only HR professional body in Singapore authorised to implement the national HR credentials, which is known as the IHRP Certification.

IHRP has the goal of setting the HR standards of excellence and enabling human capital development in enterprises. Through the IHRP Certification, IHRP aims to enhance the competencies of HR professionals, as well as create developmental and professional pathways for them. This will professionalise and strengthen the HR profession practice in Singapore, allowing HR professionals to be key enablers in their organisations.

Our 15-member board of directors come from diverse backgrounds. The Chairperson is Ms Goh Swee Chen, Chairperson, Shell Companies in Singapore.

Vision

To build a world-class HR community – effecting purposeful change for people and organisations.

Mission

To be an internationally recognised authority of HR, defining HR standards of excellence, and leading the adoption of progressive human capital practices.

Why IHRP?

Against the backdrop of rapid business disruption, it is essential that organisations develop their human capital, so they can be future-ready and thrive amid economic shifts.

HR is the enabler that will help organisations rise to meet this challenge. But for it to be successful, HR must itself be future-ready. It must focus on maximising human capital and contribute to business growth.

IHRP aims to equip HR professionals and their organisations with progressive and forward-looking people practices to meet this challenge.

We will perform these 3 roles

  • Certify competent HR professionals through a ‘gold standard’ IHRP Certification, endorsed by the industry and tripartite partners
  • Enable enterprises to develop their employees and adopt progressive human capital practices
  • Foster a vibrant HR community that empowers individuals to develop, businesses to thrive and society to prosper

We invite you to learn the benefits of an IHRP Certification, explore the certification framework and find the level of certification that is right for you.

Assessment

The Assessment Committee ensures that the Assessment Framework and content of the certification assessments are aligned with the most updated standards in the IHRP Certification Framework and reflects the changes in labour polices, legislations and professional practices as well as the business operating environment.

Engagement and Outreach

The role of the Engagement and Outreach Committee is to advise IHRP and its Governance Board on matters relating to building IHRP’s brand, as well as engaging the HR and business communities in support of human capital development.

Professional Practices

The Professional Practices Committee provides leadership for the development and implementation of the IHRP Certification Framework, which includes the standards, certification, course accreditation frameworks and continuing professional development (CPD).
