About IHRP

Established as a HR professional body, the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) sets the benchmark for the competencies and behaviours of future-ready HR professionals through the national HR certification framework.

Institute for Human Resource Professionals is the Human Resource (HR) professional body, set up by the tripartite partners: the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) to professionalise and strengthen the HR practice in Singapore.

IHRP is the only HR professional body in Singapore authorised to implement the national HR credentials, which is known as the IHRP Certification.

IHRP has the goal of setting the HR standards of excellence and enabling human capital development in enterprises. Through the IHRP Certification, IHRP aims to enhance the competencies of HR professionals, as well as create developmental and professional pathways for them. This will professionalise and strengthen the HR profession practice in Singapore, allowing HR professionals to be key enablers in their organisations. IHRP is also the appointed programme manager for the national Human Capital Diagnostics Tool (HCDT) and the SkillsFuture Study Awards for HR. Through the HCDT, Study Awards and other Human Capital Initiatives, IHRP supports multiple government agencies reaching out to help organisations in Singapore adopt progressive human capital practices.

Our 15-member board of directors come from diverse backgrounds. The Chairperson is Ms Goh Swee Chen, former Chairperson, Shell Companies in Singapore.

To build a world-class HR community – effecting purposeful change for people and organisations.

To be an internationally recognised authority of HR, defining HR standards of excellence, and leading the adoption of progressive human capital practices.

Against the backdrop of rapid business disruption, it is essential that organisations develop their human capital, so they can be future-ready and thrive amid economic shifts.

HR is the enabler that will help organisations rise to meet this challenge. But for it to be successful, HR must itself be future-ready. It must focus on maximising human capital and contribute to business growth.

IHRP aims to equip HR professionals and their organisations with progressive and forward-looking people practices to meet this challenge.

We will perform these 3 roles

  • Certify competent HR professionals through a ‘gold standard’ IHRP Certification, endorsed by the industry and tripartite partners
  • Enable enterprises to develop their employees and adopt progressive human capital practices
  • Foster a vibrant HR community that empowers individuals to develop, businesses to thrive and society to prosper

We invite you to learn the benefits of an IHRP Certification, explore the certification framework and find the level of certification that is right for you.
